The ACHIEVER® Parent

“You work hard and you set a great example for your kids that having goals gets things done. You also demonstrate balance and that goals aren’t only work related, but include self-care, family and fun, too.”

Are you an ACHIEVER?

Celebrate:

  • You are goal driven
  • You most likely make a lot of lists – and if it wasn’t on the list, but you did it, you add it on later just to cross it off
  • You are a hard worker
  • You get things done

Evaluate:

  • Are you a workaholic?
  • Are you expecting the same intensity from others?
  • Are you forgetting about self-care?
  • Are you adding too many things to your list?

You have a fantastic ability to motivate yourself when it comes to getting things done; however, make sure your to-do list includes non-work-related items, making time for family and self-care. As a parent, you are a great role model for your children on the benefits of tenacity and hard work. You demonstrate that goals are a great way to focus your intensity and create success. Remember though, that not everyone is as driven as you are and has their own way of reaching their goals. Be sure to talk with your children and see what motivates them to move ahead and create their own successful outcomes. By doing so, you can help them set goals which are appropriate for them.
